Automatically mark outbound SMS created via an API as Read in Message History

When outbound messages are created via API they show in Message History as unread with a blue dot. This causes confusion when trying to identify what are inbound unread messages and outbound messages. Could they either be automatically set to Read or could there be different colours for outbound and inbound dots on unread messages.
